HARRISBURG- Rep. Stan Saylor (R-York) released the following statement in response to Gov. Tom Wolf’s decision to veto the Human Services Code contained in House Bill 59.

“Once again the governor exhibits a failure to lead with his veto of commonsense Medicaid reforms. The legislation that the General Assembly passed made a simple ask; that able-bodied adults who are on Medicaid work or fulfill job search requirements. To be very clear – minors, pregnant women, the elderly, and disabled individuals would all be exempt from this new requirement. This policy is about ensuring that we have a stable Medicaid system in Pennsylvania and to secure it for current recipients and future generations. The governor’s actions today put that at risk.”
