Barrar and House, Senate Committees to Focus on Emergency Responders’ Participation in Communications System

WHAT: Rep. Steve Barrar (R-Chester/Delaware), chairman of the House Veterans Affairs and Emergency Preparedness Committee, will conduct a joint public hearing to focus on the Commonwealth’s future participation in the FirstNet communications system for emergency responders across Pennsylvania.

WHO: Members of the House and Senate Veterans Affairs and Emergency Preparedness committees, as well as the Senate Communications and Technology Committee. Testifiers will include representatives from the Pennsylvania State Police, Pennsylvania Emergency Management Agency, Office of Administration, FirstNet, AT&T, CONXX, Nokia and Verizon.

WHEN: Thursday, Oct. 19, at 9 a.m.
