HARRISBURG – On Monday, June 10, Rep. Jonathan Fritz’s (R-Susquehanna/Wayne) House Bill 1479, which would designate the bridge on State Route 3041 (Bridge Street, Seelyville) in Wayne County, as the PFC Raymond P. Schwesinger Memorial Bridge, passed the House Transportation Committee unanimously.
“It’s truly an honor to sponsor this legislation for a man who fought for our freedom and gave his life for our nation,” said Fritz. “We are forever grateful for his service and sacrifice.”
Schwesinger was a rifleman who served with the 3rd Platoon, Delta Company, 1st Battalion, 9th Marines, 3rd Marine Division, III Marine Amphibious Force. He was killed in Quang Nam Province, Vietnam, on May 6, 1966.
Fritz’s legislation now moves to the full House for consideration.
