HARRISBURG — Rep. Rick Saccone (R-Allegheny/Washington) today released the following statement after the House passed a revenue package with no tax increases and no new borrowing:
“This is a great compromise. We’ve finally done what the people have sent us here to do. Many of them have told us they can’t afford higher taxes and this revenue package will make sure that their taxes do not rise. This fiscally responsible plan puts the hard-working Pennsylvanians first and it does so without borrowing a single dollar.
“To raise taxes on energy, telephone and cable bills like the Senate passed and Gov. Tom Wolf supported would only take more money away from our hard-working Pennsylvanians. I’ve had many taxpayers come to me and mention how they are struggling financially and it is truly heartbreaking. I’m proud to say that this package will not include a tax on energy and telephone consumers, which would only hurt our taxpayers more.”
