HARRISBURG – Rep. Mike Tobash (R-Schuylkill/Dauphin) voted in favor of the “Putting People First” state budget revenue package in the House on Wednesday evening. After the vote, Tobash made the following statement:

“This is a very realistic revenue plan that changes the direction in which state government operates. The plan includes no new taxes on telecommunications, energy or internet software, as other proposed revenue plans would have done. Over the last five years, we have stopped kicking the can down the road in regard to our state government’s debt. Now is not the time to pick that can up and start kicking again. Instead of borrowing from outside investors and/or taxing consumers, we are being good financial stewards. This revenue plan is the same way that a household or small business in Pennsylvania would handle a pinch – they use their savings because that is what savings are for.”
