HARRISBURG — Rep. Zach Mako (R-Lehigh/Northampton) joined his colleagues today in approving a responsible way to fund the Fiscal Year 2017-18 state budget:
“Today’s vote is an important step in finishing the budget process. Since July we have been working to identify special fund savings accounts with money sitting idle for years.
“Our plan puts the taxpayer first by not increasing taxes or borrowing while sitting on unused reserves. There is no need to raise taxes on goods and services when unencumbered money is available. I’m hopeful the Senate will pass the plan as is so the budget pieces can be completed quickly.”
