HARRISBURG – Rep. Jim Struzzi (R-Indiana) today announced that his bill,
House Bill 855, was passed by the House of Representatives.
This bill would require the Secretary of the Budget to project revenue shortfalls for the fiscal year starting in December, and to put equal amounts in the budgetary reserve in order to balance the budget.
“We understand that money must be spent in order to accomplish the goals we have in our Commonwealth, but we also need to understand where that money comes from,” said Struzzi. “Rising budget deficits will lead to tax increases, which hurts all the citizens of Pennsylvania. We need to be proactive about preventing that from happening.”
The bill is now before the Senate for consideration.
