WHAT: In light of the Commonwealth’s $1.5 billion-plus budget deficit, House State Government Committee Chairman Daryl Metcalfe (R-Butler) will convene an informational meeting to further scrutinize Lt. Gov. Mike Stack’s more than $30,000 grocery tab, of which at least $3,000 is unaccounted.
From January 2015 to March 2017, Pennsylvania taxpayers were routinely billed more than $1,000 a month, and several times more than $2,000 per month, for extravagant food purchases at the lieutenant governor’s mansion that included jumbo lump crab meat, New York strip steaks, lobster, shitake mushrooms, and vast amounts of snacks and protein bars.
WHO: Chairman Metcalfe; members of the House State Government Committee; and Americans for Prosperity-Pennsylvania Policy Director Anna McCauslin. In addition to Stack, representatives from the Department of General Services, Office of the Budget and Office of Inspector General were also invited to participate.
