The Pennsylvania House Republican Caucus (“Caucus”) and its Members operate legislative websites as a public service in order to further constituent communication and access to legislative information. By accessing these websites, you agree to these Terms of Use, without limitation, qualification or reservation. The Terms of Use may, at the discretion of the Caucus, change without notice. Your use of these websites is subject to any applicable laws as well as the current version of the Terms of Use posted on the web site at the time of such use. Nothing from these websites may be utilized for election campaign purposes. If you violate these Terms of Use, the Caucus may take appropriate actions to end such violation.
1. Websites of the Caucus and its Members are maintained for informational purposes only and are not intended to replace the official record of laws or legislation. 7. These Terms of Use are governed by and construed in accordance with laws of Pennsylvania, without giving effect to its conflicts of law provisions. Terms of Use for Social Media Accounts Maintained by the Pennsylvania House Republican Caucus
These terms of use are maintained by the Republican Caucus of the Pennsylvania House of Representatives (“Caucus”) for social media sites used by its Members or the Caucus. Social media includes, but is not limited to, Facebook, YouTube, Twitter (now X), Instagram, Truth Social or similar online media and mobile media tools which allow viewers or readers to participate in conversations and content development.
1. The purpose of these legislative social media pages and accounts are to engage in legislative discourse (i.e. to provide information about Pennsylvania legislation, government initiatives and how government affects you). For additional information, please see the Caucus website at www.pahousegop.com.
2. The Caucus reserves the right to remove any posts which constitute any of the following:
- Are unrelated to legislative discourse.
- Are defamatory, obscene, truly threatening.
- Incite lawless action or illegal conduct
- Are subject to intellectual property protections and posted in violation of such protections or other laws.
- Contain affiliate marketing, link referral code, junk mail, spam, chain letters or pyramid schemes.
- Contain any form of advertising or solicitation.
3. The Pennsylvania Public Official and Employee Ethics Law prohibits the use of any legislative resource for an election campaign purpose. Posts related to election campaigns will be removed.
4. Some social media sites allow Members to limit comments and posting on their social media sites to only constituents residing within their legislative district. In such cases, the Member reserves the right to remove comments or posting made by non-constituents.
5. Any posts made in violation of (2), (3) or (4), may be removed without notice.
6. Posts to these social media pages and accounts, including suggestions for legislation, will be treated as non-proprietary and your submission will be deemed an unrestricted license to use the material. Posts to these pages and accounts are publicly accessible. Do not post sensitive personal information, such as Social Security numbers, phone numbers, mailing addresses or home addresses. If you choose to post any personal information, you do so at your own risk.
7. These social media pages and accounts contain legislative information, material generated by Facebook or the pertinent social media, and may also contain material generated by private individuals. To the extent possible, posts will be removed after 30 days.
8. The Caucus or its Members may remove any information posted by the Member or the Caucus regardless of the effect of such removal on comments, likes or other input connected to such post.
9. The Caucus, its Members and employees are not responsible for any content posted by independent parties.
