HARRISBURG—The Sportsmen Voter Registration Act, legislation that will ensure the availability of voter registration applications any time a hunting or fishing license is applied for, was introduced last week by Rep. David H. Rowe (R-Snyder/Union/Mifflin/Juniata), chairman of the House Republican Policy Committee.

Williams Announces Legislation to Allow Private Cause of Action Against Public Officials Violating Federal Immigration Detainers

HARRISBURG – Rep. Craig Williams (R-Delaware/Chester) has announced legislation to establish a private cause of action against government officials who willfully disregard federal immigration laws, including lawful detainers issued by U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE). This proposed law would create a statutory exception to sovereign and governmental immunity, allowing individuals to seek damages for harm caused by the knowing release of illegal immigrants or knowing failure to notify ICE or honor ICE detainers.

HARRISBURG – During the PGC’s Annual Report before the House Game and Fisheries meeting, Maloney, the Republican chairman, questioned PGC executive director Steve Smith on the status and locating of a domesticated whitetail deer named “Baby” that was forcibly seized from a family in Fayette County on Feb. 25.
