HARRISBURG – For the first time in the 14 years since Pennsylvania’s Right-to-Know (RTK) Law was enacted, it could soon receive much-need updates after the House State Government Committee advanced House Bill 2524 by Rep. Lou Schmitt (R-Blair).

Kate Klunk (R-Hanover) and Torren Ecker (R-Abbottstown) to ensure the agency has access to information so it can perform needed research.

State Government Committee to Address Pension Reform and Right-to-Know Laws

WHAT: To protect Pennsylvania taxpayers, the House State Government Committee will meet Wednesday to discuss several pension reform bills, including disallowing future Susquehanna River Basin Commission employees, who are not state employees, from joining the state pension system. The committee will also take up two bills to improve the current Right-to-Know Law.

Health Committee OKs Owlett Bill to Help with MA Costs

HARRISBURG – The House Health Committee has approved legislation sponsored by Rep. Clint Owlett (R-Tioga/Bradford/Potter) to clarify that private insurance instead of taxpayer-funded Medical Assistance must be used, if available, to cover a child’s health care needs.
