HARRISBURG – State Rep. Carl Walker Metzgar (R-Somerset/Bedford) today announced that the House of Representatives has passed House Bill 2787, which would give the authority to make decisions regarding school athletic events to each individual school entity. Schools would determine whether or not to hold athletic and extracurricular events, and whether or not to allow spectators at said events.

Tom Wolf’s COVID-19 Disaster Emergency veto, on the 180th day following issuance of his original declaration. The representative issued a statement after today’s vote on House Resolution 836, which needed to pass by a two-thirds majority required by the Constitution.

Carl Walker Metzgar (R-Somerset/Bedford) today announced that the House of Representatives has failed to overturn the governor’s veto of House Resolution 836, which would terminate the COVID-19 disaster emergency first declared on March 6. The General Assembly had previously adopted the resolution on June 9, followed by the governor’s veto on July 14.
