Dowling Calls on Wolf to Sign Bill to Increase Water Access for Ohiopyle State Park

HARRISBURG – Rep. Matthew Dowling (R-Fayette/Somerset) is calling on Gov. Tom Wolf to sign a bill he drafted that would authorize a land swap between the Department of Conservation and Natural Resources (DCNR) and Ohiopyle Borough to increase water access for Ohiopyle State Park. The General Assembly unanimously supported the legislation.

(Lebanon, PA) – AARP Foundation Tax-Aide, the nation’s largest free, volunteer-based tax preparation and assistance service is suspending in-person tax preparation services in all Pennsylvania sites including Lebanon County. As the coronavirus pandemic evolves, AARP Foundation and its community partners has determined that the Tax-Aide program can NOT open any of its in-person sites for the remainder of the tax season, which has been extended to July 15. The health and safety of program volunteers and taxpayers remains AARP Foundation’s top priority, and this decision about re-opening was made with that in mind.

Delozier Amendment Strengthens Licensure Legislation, Helps Send Bill to Governor’s Desk

HARRISBURG – A much-needed piece of legislation that deals with individuals who have criminal records and are attempting to return to the workforce in a field that requires state licensure is on the verge of becoming law. Senate Bill 637, which now awaits Gov. Tom Wolf’s signature, includes an amendment offered in committee by state Rep. Sheryl Delozier (R-Cumberland) that passed the House earlier this year as House Bill 1477 (which she authored).
