WHAT: Rep. Wendy Fink (R-Red Lion) will host a ceremony to officially designate the bridge over Kreutz Creek in Windsor Township, York County, as the Pvt. Myles Ness Memorial Bridge. This dedication honors the late Pvt. Myles Ness for his courageous service and sacrifice while serving in the renowned Meuse-Argonne Offensive in World War I. A native of Windsor Township, Ness was wounded by a mustard gas attack but survived the war. He died on May 15, 1958.

JENNER TOWNSHIP – To pay respects to Somerset County’s fallen heroes, Rep. Carl Walker Metzgar (R-Somerset) was accompanied by family members of Private First Class (PFC) Paul A. Gilbert and the community for a bridge dedication ceremony today in Jenner Township. Gilbert, a Gray native, was killed in action on Feb. 19, 1966, in Vietnam.

His military career spanned 32 years, during which he served with distinction as a staff judge advocate to several brigades and deployed in key missions including Operation Desert Shield/Storm in the Middle East and Operation Uphold Democracy in Haiti.
