Valerie Gaydos (R-Allegheny) and the House Republican Policy Committee, led by Chairman Josh Kail (R-Beaver/Washington), convened a hearing to examine affordable health care, one of the most pressing issues for small businesses, and discuss how association health plans (AHPs) work, their benefits and the regulatory framework needed to implement them effectively in Pennsylvania. AHPs allow small businesses to band together to purchase health insurance as a collective group, potentially achieving lower premiums and better coverage options typically only available to larger organizations.

Washington County Awarded $15.5 Million for Expansion of Clean Water Infrastructure

ATLASBURG, PA—Pennsylvania American Water has been awarded $15.5 million in low-interest loans from the Pennsylvania Infrastructure Investment Authority (PENNVEST) for two water main extension projects in Washington County. The projects will provide safe and reliable public water service and increased fire protection capabilities to nearly 60 homes, a public school district and a fire department, as announced in a press release from Pennsylvania American Water.
