General Assembly Unanimously Passes Greiner Legislation to Extend Tax Return Deadlines

HARRISBURG - The General Assembly unanimously passed legislation authored by Rep. Keith Greiner (R-Lancaster) to change the due date of state corporate tax returns from 30 days after the due date of the federal return, to the 15th day of the month following the due date of the federal return. The House passed the legislation after approving Senate amendments.

House Passes Emrick Bill Seeking to Relieve Homeowners of Property Tax Penalty

HARRISBURG – Seeking to eliminate an unfair and unnecessary tax burden, Rep. Joe Emrick (R-Northampton) announced that the House passed his legislation, House Bill 430, that would waive the 10% penalty upon receipt of an affidavit during the first year of ownership if the new owners did not receive their property tax bill. The property owners would pay the full amount of the property taxes due and present a copy of their deed to prove their date of purchase.

House Approves Roae’s One Staffer-One Shopper Bill

House State Government Committee to Mark End of Election Review Hearings

WHAT: The House State Government Committee recently concluded its non-partisan and bi-partisan review of Pennsylvania’s election process and laws. Over the course of 10 hearings, the committee heard from more than 50 testifiers ranging from national election experts to county election officials, and from top Pennsylvania election officials to officials who oversee elections in other states. Pennsylvania was the only state to complete an inclusive review of its election laws and administration prior to moving legislation.
