WHAT: House Commerce Committee Chairman Brian Ellis (R-Butler) announced a voting meeting to consider two consumer protection measures, House Bill 1846, sponsored by Ellis, which would update the Breach of Personal Information Notification Act, and House Bill 1847, sponsored by Rep. Mike Driscoll (D-Philadelphia), which would update the Credit Report Agency Act. The committee will also consider Rep. Jim Christiana’s (R-Beaver/Washington) House Bill 1562, which would update the PennWATCH Act to establish an advisory committee, transfer management to the Independent Fiscal Office and expand the data available online.

House Game and Fisheries Committee Hearing to be Held in Girard

HARRISBURG – The state House on Wednesday passed legislation that would keep Pennsylvania on the path of fiscal responsibility by addressing the manner in which debt associated with the state’s Redevelopment Assistance Capital Program (RACP) is handled. Robert Godshall (R-Montgomery), which would permit eligible patients with terminal illnesses to use investigational drugs, biological products and devices not yet approved by the U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA), passed the last major hurdle on its way to the governor’s desk. Phillips-Hill, Santora Demand Action on Tax Credits, Scholarships

HARRISBURG – State Reps. Kristin Phillips-Hill (R-York) and Jamie Santora (R-Delaware) are asking Gov. Tom Wolf to release letters of approval related to the Educational Improvement Tax Credit (EITC) and Opportunity Scholarship Tax Credit (OSTC) programs. The letters, which were to be sent to participating businesses nearly two months ago, are being held up by the governor because he does not believe it would be prudent to send them out until there is a revenue package in place for the 2017-18 state budget.
