HARRISBURG – Pennsylvanians who buy health insurance on a new state-based exchange are seeing lower costs thanks to legislation introduced in the House and sponsored by Speaker Bryan Cutler (R-Lancaster). That is according to the Pennsylvanian Department of Insurance, which approved lower rates for 2021 and attributed the savings to House Bill 3, now known as Act 42 of 2019.

HARRISBURG – House Republicans today laid out their pro-jobs, recovery-focused plan to revive Pennsylvania’s economy after COVID-19 mitigation restrictions negatively impacted businesses throughout the Commonwealth. Entitled “Commonwealth’s COVID Comeback” the plan comes in the form of four bills and one resolution. This legislative package aims to incentivize manufacturing and job creation in Pennsylvania without imposing any new taxes or fees.

Strokes are the fifth leading cause of death and the leading cause of disability in the United States today. In fact, every 40 seconds, someone in the United States has a stroke and every four minutes, someone dies of stroke. It is estimated worldwide that one out of every four individuals will suffer a stroke during his or her lifetime. To raise greater awareness about strokes and how to identify them, I have introduced a resolution recognizing Oct. 29, 2020, as World Stroke Day in Pennsylvania.

WHAT: A ceremony to unveil a new sign designating a 4-mile stretch of state Route 183 in front of the Reading Regional Airport in Berks County as the Trooper Wayne C. Ebert Memorial Highway. Ebert was killed on June 7, 1978, while directing traffic at the Reading air show. While performing his duties on Route 183, Ebert was struck and killed by a pickup truck.
