HARRISBURG - Nearly two years ago, Rep. Craig Staats (R-Bucks) sent letters to Gov. Tom Wolf and the Pennsylvania Department of Environmental Protection (DEP) expressing concern about public health following the discovery of asbestos in the East Rockhill Quarry in East Rockhill Township, Bucks County. At issue was the release of airborne fibrous asbestos from mining and rock crushing activity that threatened the health and safety of nearby school students and residents.
